Eagle Feathers

Codex Pages

Later in his life, Altair delved deep into the knowledge of the apple he acquired centuries earlier. He would use this knowledge to create new teachings and incredible inventions that would help the Assassins in the future. More than that they also served as diary pages so that we could have a much deeper insight into his life later on. For the main story, Ezio takes the codex pages to famed Italian Renaissance master Leonardo Da Vinci, who is also a close friend of the Auditore family. Through the game, Leonardo would provide Ezio with new assassination tools that would greatly ass in this journey like the Hidden Gun and Poison Blade. Leonardo would also teach Ezio different Assassination techniques like Air, Ledge, and Hay Bale Assassinations. These assassination techniques would become great staples of the Assassin’s Creed series that are used even after 13 years of games. Near the end of his story, Ezio compiles all the codex pages and finds that there is a map of the world embedded in the pages. For Ezio, he believes that many of the lands he sees do not exist but is then told that they most likely have yet to be rediscovered. While the codex pages do count as collectibles that you can find at your leisure, when you come to the end of Ezio’s journey, collecting the pages becomes paramount to collecting which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Eagle Feathers

At the very start of the game we are introduced to Ezio’s Little Brother, Petruccio and he has a fascination for collecting eagle feathers which Ezio is capable of collecting. After Petruccio is killed, Ezio’s mother Maria goes into a catatonic state and is like this for many years. During the years of Ezio’s travel, he collects several feathers which he then brings back to Maria and places in Petruccio’s feather chest. This helps to bring Maria out of her grievous state and greatly repairs her mental health. It would allow her to be able to move on and reunite her with her family and become the strong matriarch she was introduced as. This also delivers Ezio, the Auditore cape which is an outfit choice in the game. The lengths that Ezio would go to to protect his family are seen but the fact that he would climb some of the highest buildings in Italy just to fulfil his brother's wish and help his mother is another staple of why Ezio stands as one of the greatest and most determined of the Assassin’s Creed protagonists. While others are just as strong-willed, only Ezio has left a substantial mark on their player base.
